The school day
The School Day
The gates open at 8.45am. A member of SLT, usually the Head, welcomes all children and parents/carers at the entrance gate. Another member of staff secures the exit gate. This safeguarding procedure is repeated at the end of the school day.
Due to the limited playground space we have the following phased start times;
8:45 EYFS– teachers welcome the children at the EYFS playground door.Year 6 and 5 on arrival children may go upstairs to class, where they are supervised by their teacher.
8:50 Year 1 – a teaching assistant welcomes children at the playground door and teachers wait inside the classroom.
9:00 Years 2, 3 and 4 children wait with their parents/carers until the bell is rung at 9:00 when they then line up to be collected by teachers.
For health/safety and practical reasons in order that the school day can start promptly at 9:00 we ask parents/carers not come into the school building at this time.Parents wishing to see a teacher are welcome to make an appointment via the school office.
